LinkDM Review: Comment-to-DM Features and Pricing
A practical LinkDM review for Instagram creators: comment-to-DM features, current USD pricing, follow-up limits, and when Solovio may fit your workflow.
Verdict: LinkDM is worth shortlisting if your main Instagram workflow is sending a useful link after someone comments on a post or Reel. Its free plan is a practical starting point, while paid tools add campaign preparation, lead capture, and follow-ups. The main tradeoffs are messaging-window restrictions, an extra interaction before follow-ups, and plan details worth confirming before connecting multiple accounts.

What LinkDM does for creators
LinkDM centers its product on turning Instagram engagement into DMs. Its homepage describes automations for post comments, Reel comments, Story replies, and Story mentions, alongside link-click analytics. That makes it especially relevant to creators repeatedly answering “Where can I get this?” rather than starting an entirely new audience interaction. LinkDM product overview
For example, a food creator could offer a grocery checklist under a meal-prep Reel. A fashion creator could deliver the product page shown in a styling video. The useful outcome is getting the requested resource to the right person while leaving room for a personal conversation.
The comment-to-DM features that matter
Post-specific triggers and message formats
LinkDM’s setup guide describes selecting a post, composing its DM, choosing a trigger, and saving the automation. All comments are selected by default; keyword triggers are another option. Button templates support an image, a headline, and up to three URL buttons. Plain-text message templates can contain links, but the guide says those templates do not provide open-rate and total-click tracking. AutoDM setup guide
For resource delivery, choose a keyword that expresses a clear request. “Comment CHECKLIST for the grocery list” gives the reader a more precise expectation than attaching a promotional DM to every reaction. Start with one destination; three buttons are useful only when the choices help the recipient.
If measuring link clicks matters to your campaign, message format becomes a buying and setup decision. Do not assume every DM format produces the same analytics.
Private DMs and public replies are different features
Sending a private DM after a comment is separate from posting a public reply beneath that comment. LinkDM documents public Comment Auto-Reply as a Pro feature. It can rotate up to five responses and sends the public acknowledgement after the DM has been sent successfully. Comment Auto-Reply guide
A public “I’ve sent the checklist” reply can help followers understand what happened. Keep it brief and relevant to the actual resource. The public acknowledgement should support delivery, rather than becoming another promotional message.
Preparing tomorrow’s content
Next Post lets you prepare a DM that attaches to your next published Instagram post or Reel. It is available to free users, but only one Next Post message can be prepared at a time. Next Post guide
That is useful for a creator publishing one planned resource post tomorrow. For a week of posts with different offers, LinkDM’s Pro DM Planner is more relevant: save a draft, add its draft code to the end of the caption, and LinkDM links the matching automation when the post goes live. The guide describes reusable drafts and support for externally scheduled content. DM Planner guide
The practical tradeoff is remembering the caption code. Make it part of your publishing checklist, alongside checking that the promised destination is the right one. DM Planner prepares the automation; use your publishing workflow to schedule the content itself.
Lead capture inside the conversation
LinkDM’s Pro Lead Generation feature collects information through questions in Instagram DMs. Its documentation allows up to ten active forms with up to ten fields each, including email, name, and multiple-choice questions, and supports CSV export. Lead Generation guide
For a newsletter signup, ask for the email and explain what the person will receive. For a workshop, one relevant question about their goal may be enough. More available fields do not make a better form: every question should have a clear purpose.
This feature deserves attention if your next step is collecting a signup rather than simply delivering a link.
Follow-ups: useful, but conditional
LinkDM’s Pro Flow Automation uses a Starter DM with a button. Its documentation says the recipient must interact with that starter before additional messages can be sent within Meta’s 24-hour engagement window. It also specifies one active flow per person: engaging with another flow-enabled post replaces the previous sequence. Flow Automation guide
That changes how you should write the first message. A starter such as “Want the checklist? Tap below” asks for another action before delivery. Make the button’s purpose obvious, and do not describe a flow as an unrestricted sequence that reaches everyone who comments.
A Reminder DM can check whether the recipient clicked the requested link and skip the reminder when they did. Reminder DM guide Custom DMs can provide scheduled additional messages after starter engagement. Custom DM guide
Our recommendation is to begin with the requested resource and, if useful, one relevant reminder. Avoid treating every resource request as permission for a long sales sequence.
The Flow guide says each flow DM uses a credit, while the Starter DM does not. Budget for messages, rather than treating each commenter as one unit of usage. Flow credit rules
LinkDM pricing: monthly and annual billing
These public prices are in USD:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing, paid yearly | Instagram accounts | Advertised monthly DMs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 | 1,000 |
| Pro | $19 | $182 | Up to 3 | 25,000 |
| Platinum+ | $99 | $832 | Up to 10 | 300,000 |
Annual payments equal about $15.17/month for Pro and $69.33/month for Platinum+. LinkDM pricing
Allowance clarification: annual cards and the homepage state per-account limits; monthly cards omit this wording. Confirm quota scope for multiple profiles. Overage charges are not itemized; check quota-exhaustion behavior and your checkout total. Plan details, account allowances on the homepage
Choose paid features for a specific job. Lead capture, campaign preparation, or conditional follow-ups can justify an upgrade; a larger allowance alone will not improve an unclear offer.
Limitations to check before a launch
First, check connection requirements early. LinkDM’s prerequisite guide lists a Creator or Business Instagram account, a Facebook Page, and full administrative access. Confirm the requirements for the connection route you will use before announcing a campaign. Connection prerequisites
Second, public replies have their own delivery limits. LinkDM documents temporary four-hour Comment Auto-Reply pauses when too many comments are sent, while DMs continue. A paid subscription does not guarantee every public acknowledgement will appear. Comment reply pause guidance
Third, match the caption to the trigger. Share to Inbox responds when someone sends your Instagram post or Reel to your account’s inbox. It does not mean every share to a friend triggers your automation. Share to Inbox guide
Finally, documentation does not establish delivery speed or conversion performance for your account. Before a significant launch, run a small real workflow, check the recipient experience, and review the destination on a phone. This review does not claim benchmark results.
When to choose LinkDM, and when to consider Solovio
LinkDM is a strong candidate when you want resource delivery with room to expand into in-DM forms or prepared campaign drafts. Its free allowance of 1,000 DMs is larger than Solovio’s current free allowance of 100. LinkDM plans, Solovio plans
Solovio is worth considering when a focused comment-to-DM workflow fits your needs. Its current comment automation page describes keyword or broader comment triggers on posts and Reels, with a prepared DM for a guide, link, or offer. Solovio comment automation
Solovio’s USD monthly Pro price is $9, with 25 active automations and 5,000 automated DMs per month; applicable tax is added at checkout. Its Free plan includes three active automations. Pricing can vary with location and billing cycle. Solovio pricing
For a solo creator sending one useful resource and handling deeper questions personally, compare that capacity and cost against the paid features you would actually use. For native lead forms or LinkDM’s specific Flow and DM Planner workflows, LinkDM deserves consideration on its own merits.

Its Pro Comment Auto-Reply feature can do that after successful DM delivery. A public reply is separate from the private DM. Feature guide

Is LinkDM better than Solovio?
